Semipermanent 09: Day 1, Session 3.

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

wot an epic session! danny yount had so many examples of his work. storyboards, animatics, finished works that got shelved halfway through post production, and amazing finished products, some I had seen and some I haven’t. he put on a an awesome talk, that kept everyone entertained!

ben nott, from droga5 showed us a great selection of his work, from some of the most recent all the way back to his first commercial work! something that really got me was his emphasis on the message. how the message is more important than the means. I think this stayed true through most of the work he showed us, including many works that really tugged on the heartstrings!

got a function now, but I will be doing a speaker by speaker roundup, one each day!! oh yeah. it’s gonna be an epic week!

it was a really good vibe, lots of amazing art by some of australia’s most talented female artists, covering a lot of styles. Of course i had my faves (the image gallery has a couple of them) and i am sure other people do too. i wish i took more photos, but the gallery got so hot, even the free peroni’s couldnt keep you cool!
