some people have too much time on their hands..
Wednesday, February 25th, 2009ok, so more sock rocking action, but this time in the animation world to start..
coraline, is a fantastical movie thats set to come out soon, and looks to be a top film of 2009. with awesome marketing and media buzz surrounding its creation, as well as a crazy mail out of boxes to various important figures in the media (see the news on notcot – www.notcot.com). but, the best thing of all, this was made with old fashioned stop motion! woo!!! taking a lil over 3 years to complete, i cant wait to see it in full!!
check out the amazing interactive movie site, and see the trailer at – www.coraline.com
in the same vein, reza dolatabadi has created an amazing 5 minute video using over 6000 paintings! it took 2 years to finish, and is quite an amazing short film in its own right. then, when you realise each frame was handpainted, it just blows you away!
gotta love vimeo…
now for some illustrative works, which i have been getting into something severe latley.
jeff soto has been featured all over the place recently, so why not here? his work is amazingly fresh, and clean, and always seems to include awesome meaning, even if someof it goes over my head…
see, awesome.

michael steele has also been doing some sock rocking stuff, most notably with his cluster series. with super clean lines, these hectic little clusters look amazing! and should be hanging on my wall.

finally, i love the latest cover of clutter magazine. its definately rad, and the whole zine is tight.
for the life of me i cant remember the artist that did it, and their flash site is loading slow as my net has been capped for the month. but wen i find out, i will update with the right info.. you know who it is? chuck up a comment!
there is an awesome interview with its creators on formatmag right now, so go have a read here – www.formatmag.com
and see inside the mag, the shop, the blog and everything cluttery at – www.cluttermagazine.com
thats it from me, for now.
peace
